Reef Update, Feb. ‘12

Just a quick update on the status of the aquarium. Since I am so bad at keeping this blog up to date, there have been a lot of changes since the last post.

Here are some pictures that will show you what I mean.

The old 16 gallon tank, just prior to a big change.

Prepping for the transplant. Swapping the 16 gallon bow-front to a new 38 gallon tank.

Temporary home for rock, coral, fish, and critters during the swap.
Cold, cloudy water during the swap.
With the water finally clear and warm, everyone was introduced to their new home.
A couple weeks later a new fish friend moved in. We named it Dumble-Dory.

Another friend joined us for a while, but a bacteria bloom ended up cutting his life short.

Little Blue likes to hide out in the rocks. He sleeps there every night.

The latest additions. From left to right: yellow flower-pot coral, green star polyps, and green montipora capricornus.
