I Love My Job!

When I used to hear people talk about how they love their jobs, or see people who had a lot of money and continued to work, even though it didn't seem like they needed to do so, I used to think "What is wrong with you people?!" I didn't understand why anyone would work one minute longer than they had to. I thought of work as a necessary evil, something that we all have to do to pay the bills, and not something that was to be (or even could be) enjoyed.

Then things changed.

I can honestly say now that I love my job. I do. I don't just endure my job because it affords me a good lifestyle, or love the money I get from working, like a lot of people who say they like their jobs. I actually enjoy doing what I do...a lot! I even find myself excited for Mondays (though I still don't relish waking up early on a Monday morning).

I can't tell you how much more enjoyable life is when you don't have to dread going to work every day. I used to go to bed at night with that familiar feeling of "Oh crap, when I wake up I have to go back to work." I used to stop enjoying the weekend on Sunday afternoon, just because it was getting so close to time to go back to work. I would dread every work day, and count down to every weekend. Over and over. And my former job really wasn't even that bad.

Now those days are just a memory, and I get to be one of those people who say "I love my job!" :)

Sailing in San Diego for New Year's 2009-2010

We went to San Diego right before New Year's. We stayed on a 38' catamaran with my parents and my sister and her family. The weather could have been a little nicer, but it was a really fun trip. Here are some of the pics from the trip.
